We need your help! No matter your age - you can support the animals of Canterbury by fundraising for us!


Each year it costs us over $3 million per annum to help vulnerable Canterbury animals. We don't receive any Government funding so rely heavily upon the generosity of our community to continue our life saving work.

Every little bit helps, so please consider running your own fundraising event to help animals in need!

The world is your oyster...you can design a fundraising activity to suit your capabilities and enthusiasm. Here are some ideas to give you inspiration:
  • Coin Trail. Draw an outline of an animal on a large piece of paper, on the ground in the work car-park or school courtyard, and decorate the inside using donated gold and silver coins.
  • Have a bake sale or sausage sizzle at your school or workplace. (Don't forget to buy 'SPCA Blue Tick' free range sausages!)
  • Hold a car wash in your local area.
  • Hold a mufti day or fancy dress 'animal' day.
  • Hold a raffle at your school/workplace.
  • Have a garage sale and donate proceeds.
  • Train for and compete in a sporting event.
  • We are always grateful to receive items which may be on our 'wish list'. Why not arrange a collection from your friends, family, workplace or school?
Register your event...

Once you have decided how you would like to fundraise, click here for a registration form - complete this and email it to us, or post to: Attn: Fundraising Team, SPCA Canterbury, P.O. Box 16880, Hornby, Christchurch 8441.

To help promote your event you can apply to use our 'supporters logo', click here for an application form.  Please make sure you read our Fundraising Terms and Conditions. We will then confirm your registration and help you promote your event as best we can.

Set up your fundraiser online...

Once your event is registered with our Centre, you can then set up a fundraising page online to help raise funds for your event! You can share this page on your social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, to spread the word and give your supporters a quick and simple way to donate. It's easy, simply register with one of the following sites:

Sending in your funds/collection...

We really appreciate your efforts to fundraise and would be happy to give you a special "Certificate of Appreciation" upon receiving your funds/collection. You can give us your donation in a variety of ways:
1.    Visit our Animal Centre
You are welcome to drop off your 'funds/collection' at anytime during our open hours. Our Animal Centre is open Mon - Sat, 10am - 4pm and Sun 10am - 2pm.
2.    Via post - cheques only!
You may post cheques to: RSPCA Canterbury Inc., P.O. Box 16880, Hornby, Christchurch 8441.
3.    Into our Bank Account
